Rain and Local Conditions

Are we to get any anytime soon? I hadn't noticed much with all the recent events. But yesterday when i was in Tazewell Co. i had a farmer ask me where i was from. I said Wise Co. and he wanted to know if we were having any well problems. Said his well water was almost useable that he used to water his livestock, that the water table was so low it was getting a lot of iron.
And on the drive back i did notice most rivers were really down, even heard some of the local communities were running low?

Talk to a buddy of mine. Said BSG was running low in their reservoir? I thought they just did a huge upgrade to it, to give them 600 million more gallons of water? Also, heard that if things didn't ease up that by the end this month or first of this coming month, voluntary water conservation measures may take place in several areas? I know were only about 2 1/2 inches off for rainfall. How are some areas in such bad shape so quick? I know area wise 2 1/2 inches is a lot of total water. But we shouldn't be in that bad of shape. We been a lot further off and not had problems.

Gotta think man, we hadn't had any rain in 2 1/2 weeks until a small sprinkly Friday. We need some rain bad. The mountains are dry as a chip.

Not looking good as far as measureable rainfall in sight. I have seen a few things that said possible showers.
We need the rain.
But as long as folks are ok and have water after seeing New Orleans i ain't complaing.

I agree LPDFTBL. I am wondering how many peoples wells are going dry. My parents have a fairly shallow well, and I am afraid thiers will dry up if we don't get something in the means of measureable precipitation. Luckily mine should be in pretty good shape. I hope at least.

according to Knoxville's talk radio wheather forcaster who said he get's his reports from NWS. he says that the future forcast till the end of the year for the tri-cities and extreme south western Virginia looked pretty bleack as far as getting signiagsant percipitaion! I hope for your all's sake that it isn't true! we all just have to pray !
